Reclaimed Wood Farm Tables
This is a sampling of some of our refined reclaimed wood farm tables and other custom dining tables made with reclaimed and select hardwoods. As you can see, our handmade farm tables have a much more elegant look than most of the common, cabin type tables out there. Our tops are the real deal, using wide boards from 18th & 19th century buildings, not new wood made to look like old planks. We don't fake anything, distress, or "beat up " our furniture. In fact, each board is hand selected, for their grain patterns, texture and color. These boards are stored inside our barn, each board is then dried for 3 weeks more in the heated shop. Then Jim restores all strucutural imperfections like cracks, knot holes, etc. and manipulates each board so that they are ready to glue up together. Many stages of sanding and hand work, like breadboards are completed. At last, your stain choice is completed and dried, a seal coat is applied, and lastly 2 coats of our professional catalyzed lacquer.
With all this labor and time put into each tabletop, remember, these boards are 150+ years old. Heat, sunlight, humidity, dryness are important conditions that affect all wood furniture.
The idea behind our furniture is quality, plain and simple. We hand pick all of our lumber, from the reclaimed boards to the figured hardwoods. Only the best available goes into our tables. We are not a high-volume, low-quality shop. What we do is, build one at a time, putting our best effort into each table.
Thank you for taking time to browse our website, we hope you enjoy and appreciate what you will see, we would love to build you a new.."old" dining table.
