Our Forest Furnishings line draws inspiration from the woods on Cape Ann, MA. There, the native New England Eastern Red Cedar trees get bent down by heavy snow loads and take on shapes like no other trees. Jim can walk through the woods and see just the right branches for our beds or other furniture. The ones he selects are all "dead & down". No live trees are harvested for our furniture. These trees when used for furniture bring a sense of "refined rustic" to any style of furniture, and bring these he selects trees back to life.

Forest Furnishings Bedroom Suite This stunning bedroom suite is done in reclaimed Pine, Hard Maple, Eastern Red Ceder Trees, with Maple burl door panels. The tops of each piece have intricate ceder branches applied to the edge to give it a "live edge feel"	Forest Furnishings bedroom suite Each drawer has hand cut dove tails and hand forged iron drawer pulls. Custom bench Custom bench in White Cedar taking shape	Relief carving Jim is also quite a wood carver. This Salmon was a big surprise for the recipient of this grand gift.	Custom bench This bench was a super custom design. The concept was a gift for a client's husband for a dock on a lake here in Maine. Much care was given in the design and even the ergonomics..it fits the human body like a glove. Jim hand carved the salmon out of Mahogany, the bench itself is White Cedar logs...Stunning!
Cedar branch wall table Sweet little table is secured to a wall from the back.	Custom dining table Massive 13ft x 5ft dining table with removable company boards. The top is reclaimed Hemlock planks from an 1800's barn. Also, inlaid into the top are antique floor grates that serve as trivets and also hide a hole in the top to plug in a fondue pot without unsightly wires hanging about...Brilliant!	Large table pedestal This is a great shot of Jim fitting the Cedar logs together to form one of the pedestals for a large custom dining table. Each piece had to fit exactly right.	Double tree pedestal Here is a good view of the double pedestals these massive timbers support the large custom dining table. Impressive for sure!	Cherry Wardrobe This double wardrobe has more than enough storage space for all kinds of clothes and linens/ The corner posts are Eastern Red Cedar, which are part of the actual frame work, not applied as accents. Close up of corner tree post Great place to hang your robe	Solid Cheryy media center This is one of our favorite pieces. In three sections, this piece sits at the foot of a large staircase, so we thought to vent the components, with decorative iron grates instead of the typical drilled holes or slots. The fron also has an applied edge of perfectly scribed Cedar branch to finish of the look.	Back of head board The head board on this bed features a beautiful sweeping branch and 200 year old live edge Pine boards. We seek out dead and downed trees fallen over from heavy snow loads or high winds. These trees grow near salt wate areas and develop crazy twists and bends as the weather and age. Jim's master joinery skills and keen eye for building things in his mind team up to create these beautiful beds.
